Hi All! I've always had very vivid, active dreams. I began to chronicle my dreams a few years back and it's been really interesting to see how they tie together with real life events. One of the things I started doing was writing my dream (while I could still remember it) and then giving a quick summary of the events going on my life at the time. Later down the road, I could look back and see patterns between my dreams and life events.
Anyway, enough with the introduction...
The topic I'm raising here is religion and dreams. I was raised in an independent Bible church - but what I noticed is there isn't much room (if any) for stuff connected to the spiritual world. Consequently, I ignored my dreams for a number of years, believing they couldn't have any meaning.
I've recently been doing some research into the history of the church before western protestantism (which is basically what we've got in America with Presbyterians, Lutherans, Bible Churches, etc.). As it turns out, Eastern Orthodox churches trace way, way back and they have a huge history of spiritual revelations, visions, etc. So, I know it's out there... I'd be interested to hear your experiences with religion and the acceptance (or lack there of) for things that are intangible, like visions and dreams.
